Devon was one of the first places in the world to have access to the new Starlink broadband internet service. The service was then expanded to cover the whole of the Westcountry.

Starlink promises to transform the way rural areas connect to the internet with speeds of up to 350mbps download and 20mbps+ upload. Running a business from home or from any rural location will now be possible even in the most remote areas of Devon like the South Hams (Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Totnes) or Dartmoor as well as the rest of the Westcountry. We also cover Exeter, Plymouth, Newton Abbot, Torbay, Exmoor, Cullompton, Ivybridge, Salcombe, Dawlish & Teignmouth, Tiverton, Barnstable, Ilfracombe, Hatherley, Exmouth, Seaton and Saltash.

Due to the low-latency of a Starlink connection it is suitable for video calling systems like Zoom and FaceTime. It also works with WhatsApp, mobile WiFi calling and Digital Voice/VoIP providers. We have now installed over 350 Starlink systems and have had 100% positive customer satisfaction with the broadband connection.

How our service works:

1. Placing the order – Place your order directly on www.starlink.com. If your address isn’t listed when filling in your details you can choose the ‘Set location on map’ option from the drop-down menu. Once your address or location as been recognised, you can now choose from the OWN or RENT options.

RENT – You can currently rent a Starlink dish for just an extra £10.00 inc VAT per month. There is no contract and you can cancel anytime. You will receive support and warranty replacements for the duration of your rental. During the current promotion period, here are no upfront costs associated with the rental (normally £99.00 inc VAT).

OWN – If you want to buy the kit outright, you can currently choose from a new or refurbished kit option. Both kits from Starlink come with a 2 year warranty. As part of the Authorised Starlink Installer programme, we also hold new Starlink kits in stock if you need a system installing as quickly as possible.

2. Booking your installation – Please let us know as soon as you have you have placed your Starlink order so that we can get your installation booked in. We typically book in your installation 1 week from once you’ve ordered your hardware. 3. Installing your hardware – Starlink requires a clear view of the Northern sky, but depending on the orientation and location of your property, we generally find that there is a suitable place to install the equipment. Our installation service invoices all the brackets, poles and other hardware you need.

The Starlink Version 2 ‘V2’ hardware does not have an ethernet port on the router and comes supplied with a WiFi only connection. You may require an ethernet port to connect your hardware to other networking equipment in your home or business. If this is the case, let us know and we able to supply this for you.

Depending on where your router is located, we may also need to help you install some additional networking equipment to get your internet connection to the right place.

The Starlink monthly service charge is £75.00 inc VAT if you have purchased and OWN the kit or £85.00 inc VAT if you RENT the kit. You are not tied into a long-term contract like many of the traditional telecoms providers. Once your new service is up and running you can cancel the broadband element of any existing fixed line services or your entire phone line rental agreement.

Depending on where the dish needs to be mounted a longer cable may be required – the standard cable is 50ft – upgraded 75ft, and 150ft cables are available. Subject to availability, we normally carry these on our vans and are chargeable upgrades

Starlink Business is now available in the UK at a reduced price of £150.00+VAT (£180.00) per month for their 1TB priority data package. This offers a significant discount on the original price of the service and is much better value than leased lines and dedicated ethernet circuits. A major benefit of the Starlink system compared to leased lines is that you’re are not tied into a long term contract. Once your hardware is purchased it belongs to you and you can cancel the service at anytime. Starlink have now introduced a new package for small and medium sized companies who don’t require much priority data. The new package is £80.00+VAT (£96.00) per month and includes 40GB of priority data. Once your priority data has been used, your account then switches back to unlimited non-priority data.
