Devon Comms are proud to be part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) 4G mobile boost voucher scheme. Under the scheme we are able to install a 4G router with dedicated external antenna to help residential users and businesses get online where fixed line broadband services are not adequate.

The vouchers are from £650.00 and cover the total cost of a standard 4G router, high-gain external MIMO antenna and all the installation work or part of the cost of a 4G/5G signal booster.

The equipment helps improve your broadband, give you a faster WiFi connection and enables you to use WiFi calling on your mobile phone. The boosters help to amplify 4G and 5G signals near your property.

Typical costs for an unlimited 4G data plan start from around £25.00. 5G router upgrade options are also available.

The Installation – What to Expect

On the day of your installation we will check all the major 4G networks, advise which one is giving you the fastest speeds and will then make a recommendation. If, on the day of your installation, we are unable to reach your expected download speeds then we will fail the installation and there is no charge to you.

The installation comprises of a 4G WiFi router which sits inside your home or business and an external antenna which is attached with a small pole to the outside of your property. The engineer will need to drill a small hole in an external wall to run the cable from the router to the antenna.

If the router is located away from the area in your property where you want to use the WiFi, the engineer will be able to recommend a MESH network booster or other connectivity options.

To qualify for the scheme you will take out a 12 month mobile plan, with our engineer on the day of your installation. Connecting Devon and Somerset require us to send them evidence that a data plan has been taken out as proof that you are using your 4G system, as funded by them.

We are able to supply very competitive data plans on Vodafone, Three, O2 and EE, to both residential and business users.

5G router and antenna upgrade

The CDS voucher scheme covers 4G – but we do offer an upgrade to a 5G router and antenna, for properties with 5G coverage. Our 5G systems are also compatible with 4G, so there is also an option to future-proof your system for when 5G coverage does arrive in your area.

Our 5G router and antenna system retails £399, without installation costs.
